Meeting at SAINT PIERRE

 

The Portuguese party arrived in Abbeville on 21st May 2015. During the 10 days they spent with us, we mainly worked on the project together: writing other pages of the multilingual dictionary, evaluating the project, …

We of course took time to discover the surroundings and visit places of interest. Abbeville is very close to the Somme Bay and many activities are linked to tourism. That is why we visited Amiens  and took a ride on a punt-like boat to see the “floating gardens” in the heart of the city.

We also went to Lille to see the Louvre-Lens museum with collections of works of art from the Louvre in Paris.

This other step in the project (hosting our Portuguese partners) made us consider things differently as we tried to make them feel comfortable in our high school and with our students’ families. We were also looking forward to getting  a better acquaintance of each other and try and create a  relationship that could last over the coming years …

The outcome of this experience was quite positive as our students made great efforts to make each other understand, sometimes in English or some other times with body language!
